works
from his
collection
to the
city
. He
offered
to
purchase
Margaret
Tomkins’
large
abstract
oil
,
‘White
Umber,’
at a
cost
of
$800
, and
give
it
to the
Seattle
Center
if
architects
would
accept
it
for the
Playhouse
.
Miss
Tomkins’
painting
won
an
award
of
merit
at the
Northwest
Annual
last
fall
.
Acceptance
of the
gift
was
recommended
by
Dr
.
Richard
E
.
Fuller
of the
Seattle
Art
Museum
and
Paul
Kirk
,
Playhouse
architect
.
It
will be
hung
at
balcony
level
at the
east
end
of the
lobby.”
