Description
Yugoslavia exhibit , Century 21 Exposition (Seattle World's Fair) . “Yugoslavia , the Seattle World Fair’s only Iron Curtain representative , began construction of its exhibit building yesterday . The ingeniously prefabricated building will be completed by opening day of the fair Saturday . The sponsor of the display is Yugoexport , a Yugoslav trade agency with headquarters in Belgrade . The building will be a rustic replica of a 17th Century mountain cabin using 100-year-old pine wood shipped from Yugoslavia . A variety of merchandise , from furniture to musical instruments , will be sold during the fair . Boskovic Designs , a representative of Yugoexport , is here from Belgrade to supervise assembly of the 40-by-28-foot building . Sam Viskovich , a Seattle youth whose parents were born in Yugoslavia , is serving as volunteer interpreter for the construction crew during his spring vacation from Lincoln High School.” (Seattle Times , April 17 , 1962 , p . 3.)
