Description	Port of Seattle exhibit, Century 21 Exposition (Seattle World’s Fair). “The exhibit is being put together by the Port of Seattle under the guidance of Commissioner John Haydon. Cooperating with the Port are the Navy’s Bureau of Ships, the Maritime Commission, the Office of Naval Research and the Oceanography and Fisheries Departments of the University of Washington…The Maritime Commission display includes a model of the Savannah, the world’s first nuclear-powered merchant ship, now undergoing trials before going into service.” (Seattle Times, April 14, 1962, p. 9.) The Savannah visited Seattle during her maiden voyage, October 1 – 21, 1962. (Seattle Times, September 12, 1962, p. 14; October 1, 1962, p. 1.)
