Description	Opening ceremonies of the Century 21 Exposition (Seattle World’s Fair). “Seattle shattered into a galaxy of wild excitement yesterday as the World’s Fair made its thundering debut…Thousand [sic] of balloons were launched from the roof of the Memorial Stadium to float away with the wind like polka dots against the sky.” (Stanton H. Patty, Seattle Times, April 22, 1962, p. C.) The Space Needle is visible in background.
