The role of natural gas as a fuel of the future will be
shown in a 9503-square foot, $350,000 pavilion and exhibit
at the Seattle World's Fair# it was announced yesterday jointly
by William P. Woods, president of Century 21 Gas Exhibit, Inc.,
and Donald I. Foster, director of exhibits for the 1962 world's
fair.
Woods, who is also president of the Washington Natural Gas
Company, represented Century 21 Gas Exhibit, Inc., nationwide
corporation, responsible for building, manning and operating the
exhibit, formed to represent the American Gas Association, sponsoring group•
"We will show equipment for homes and'.industry now in the
development and research stage, plus the latest application
for'home"and industrial use," Wood said.
Foster noted that the Century 21 Gas Exhibit contract,
signed recently, was for the third largest industrial exhibit
in the Domestic Commerce and Industry section "of the Seattle
World's Fair. " "■
' Preliminary exhibit designs submitted by Leonard C. Rennie
of Design and Production, Inc., Alexandria, Virginia, internationally-known exhibit design firm, are for a circular pavilion topped
with a futuristic "clock" which will mark each hour with gas flames
set off in appropriate numbers.  "Natural Gas, Fuel of Today, Fuel
of Tomorrow", will be the theme.
The exhibit is being supported by U.S. natural gas distributing companies, and firms in British Columbia and Alberta.
El Paso Natural Gas Company of El Paso, Texas, is also
participating. The gas equipment and appliance manufacturers are
also expected to contribute.
